Animal Chiropractic Services
The
First Visit
* Prior
to your scheduled first visit we require a veterinary referral.
The first initial visit involves taking a history, performing any necessary
physical and chiropractic examinations, reviewing any x-rays or tests
performed by your veterinarian (if possible), and giving the owner a report of
findings. Based on the available information, history and exam findings,
it is determined if chiropractic care is appropriate.
Most animals demonstrate some immediate changes post treatment, but it
commonly takes a couple of days for the animal to experience the full benefits
of the adjustments and to see any behavioural and/or physical changes.
Please let your animals “rest” for at least 1 – 2 days post adjustment.
Follow up recommendations will be discussed and provided in writing.
Follow Up &
Standard Visits
A follow up visit is recommended within the first 2 – 3 weeks after the
initial visit to determine changes and to reassess the patient. Long and
short term recommendations for care can usually be determined at this point.
Each patient is unique and requires individual attention for maximum benefits
to occur.
It should be stressed that chiropractic, in no way, should be thought of as a
replacement for conventional veterinary medicine, but rather as
a valid, concurrent, complimentary treatment procedure for many back and
lameness problems. Furthermore, as with any health related problems or
conditions that your animal companion may experience, it is important that
your veterinarian be contacted initially so that he or she can assess them for
any underlying medical condition that could be causing similar symptoms.
